Hello Solstice Moon

Is the solstice Moon keeping me awake these past few nights? Perhaps…

This night is the pinnacle, and perhaps the pinnacle moment of my life too, as it is the full circle. To notice your life is full, and will thus begin again. Hold onto it, all the love you feel inside, with it’s great fullness, reaching up to the sky to illuminate those who look up to see it. Maybe they’ll see you, illuminate too. You can begin again. Maybe it’s not how you thought it would be, but the moon is here tonight and that’s enough to hold a heart like yours.

Day and Night, Night and Day

My still obsession with the eclipse of the sun and the relationship between sun and moon, light and dark, day and night, yin and yang etc. I don’t know, even though it looks like it’s a child’s book of childish drawings, I’m onto something right? Some profound philosophical wisdom. The sun and moon are always there, dancing their dance together, doing just what they must do, and there is always something beautiful in just that.

Awkward square face

I could go back to the square faces of yesteryear but I should go back to the square faces of yesteryear (I’ll leave a link of those if you’re not familiar with them). But this is just instead of UGH an AWKWARD. I don’t think I like it. He doesn’t look awkward to me, not at all actually, he just looks pensive. Maybe trying to think and form the words out before fumbling with those words. Quite what I do. I think ahead of what I’ll say and not pick up on anything else but that this is what I said and now I’m panicking because you’re saying something I didn’t anticipate. And you’re upset and I didn’t make anything better, ugh. Oops let me just quietly back away. Okay, now it is awkward…now I see where it gets awkward…

The original square face was featured in my sketchbook project which I mention in that entry. I didn’t take my time and I am not really thrilled with that sketchbook but I’d do the project again with a little more time and make it more like my blog.

Gallbladder card

I was requested, or do I say I had my first commission? to make a card for a friend who’s husband just had gallbladder surgery. I can confirm the card was a success.

If anyone has a request for a card for someone you best I can do just about any body part, brain, head, severed hands, feet, mouth, eyeballs, and now I can add in my repertoire gallbladder. Oh I’ve also done a kidney. So yeah! Code Mush can doodle it all.

Half Sun/Summer

I don’t know why it’s only half..perhaps because we’ve been experiencing mostly rain this past week, strong storms and mild temperatures. But I imagine this will all change and we’ll have the hot hot summers we all know and mostly hate here in Texas. Bleh because it’s only June 1st!

I checked out a Japanese haiku book out in the library for my kids. And I enjoy reading them as well. 

Saturday: Birds and Coffee

If I knew how to write a haiku I would write one about Saturday, birds and coffee.

Saturday coffee

Birds chirp their ceremony

A song ripe with love

That’s the best I can do in a moment’s notice.

But I doodled the Saturday and bird already:

A teeny bird on top of my coffee. His voice is so beautiful however small!

Even my cat Ralph is enjoying the songs of the birds this morning. Of course he’s plotting murder, I know it.
