Better than bird in your coffee
On such a fine day

I’m getting back into printmaking! And I think I had mentioned I should. And well it’s December and I followed through on something for once.
I used some simple linoleum blocks and chiseled away rather hastily as that’s my method for doing everything, I’m afraid. Unfortunately I don’t have a press so I just pressed it gently with my hand. It came out with some spots but I am having fun experimenting.
I’ll get my brain woodcut out and see if I can’t show y’all the original brain from 20 years ago! Boy
Oh, not this again!

The audacity! The ridiculousness! And it’s migration season so it isn’t that far fetched…
a bird takes a quick break to lather in your coffee before it heads down south for the winter…
“Don’t mind if I do!”
I do love this season, the preparation for winter that every animal makes, especially birds, but also the monarch butterfly makes it’s yearly journey too. And I’m on a journey, we’re all on a journey of some sort. On this great hunk of rock. Even though some days I feel my journey is spiralling me into a panic attack. aAAAh!
Better lather in your coffee too and watch the birds!!!
Pull up a cozy cup o’ mush
I do love a good cup of chai tea in the fall season. I feel like a chai tea would wear a scarf, it’s a delightful snuggly drink.

Although it’s no where near scarf weather here in Texas, every day is a chance to have a cozy cup o’ mush. A chance to create a small cup of joy, fill ‘er up, please!
Cheers! To cheer, now go create your own cup o’ mush!

Oh, the joys of repetition. And smiley, happy coffee!
The song Shiny Happy People by R.E.M pops into my head.
I hope your coffee sings to you this morning/night as it may be!

Look into your coffee mug before you take a sip this morning, or evening, and make sure you don’t miss a smile! It may be a delusion but it helps to be a little imaginative in a dark, dismal world.
Some might say you’re crazy, but they’re just sad they can’t see a friendly little coffee mug smile! Those people need it the most though…
Come on, whimsy your way into the work week.
I dare ya!

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a floating head of dismay! And why not it floating in a cup of coffee… He’s definitely had too much coffee (man!).
I’m thinking of taking some of my coffee cup herons and my floating heads on coffee cups and making some printmaking. I’ve got a little experience with it, just need to gather the materials. I bet you didn’t know but my brain obsession starting in a printmaking class. I made a woodcut of a giant brain and some etchings. Sadly I don’t have any of the etchings but I still have my woodblock of the brain.

Because that’s what you want floating in your coffee.
And by the way, how large does this coffee cup have to be in order for a heron to fit in it? If we were really using actual scales and if it were real?
I need to work on my heron doodles.
He’s really got a penchant for the black bubbling brew…

A blob sitting comfortably in coffee mug.
A blob in a mug of ughs.
I do declare saying Ugh a million times a day is my coping mechanism for everything. That and sitting in coffee!
I just like drawing the same things. It’s also a coping mechanism.

Although the rain has subsided this morning, it’s the perfect time of morning where it’s still damp, cloudy and….you guessed it PUDDLES. Puddles in my coffee? Not a problem.
Oh wait, I hear the rain coming back.
It’s just time for me to get out and take some photos. I do have some errands to run today so I better get to it!
I need some rain boots.
