I really don’t know clouds at all
I can’t help but think about Joni Mitchell’s beautiful, iconic song Both Sides Now. I guess just the end of the year coming to a close, life seemingly the same but really so much has changed. The fear of the unknown, knowing you’re not sure of anything really. I don’t know, I think we all need to listen to melancholy music. Just to feel something, instead of dissociating. A dark cloud over your head can bring another perspective. Got to look at clouds from both sides…

Dark, Mushy Clouds

Fungi Fun! If you find Fungus Fun.
Whoa, found this fun fungus on my wanderings! It was cloudy, so some blurry pictures.
It started raining so didn’t get to explore very many places on my wanderings yesterday.
But I danced with a butterfly, or rather, I watched it dance around these flowers. But I would have danced with it!
Oh, and I found a bee too!
It was a quick little venture, but of course it did not disappoint! The rain was therapeutic and much needed for the little plants and critters!
Clouds in November (sounds like a song title, like November Rain)
I think clouds chose themselves as the theme this month. Clouds are shrouded over the skies in Texas as well as my mind, maybe everyone’s mind…I feel shifts of energy, confusion and maybe just anticipation..I am not just thinking about the upcoming election, which I know is on everyone’s mind. But something bigger perhaps, or maybe I am just overthinking too much. The latter especially true. Too much worryin’!
Sending out positive energy today, tomorrow, the rest of the year! This has been a huge year!

Daily Mush for Halloween time
I like to make a doodle everyday for my kiddos so they’ll have a little daily dose of mushiness, I’ve been doing these for a while now (3 or 4 years now! Whoa!). They do anticipate a new dose of Tuesday the Cat or Monday Brain, so I keep doodling. I had kind of stopped because I kept forgetting paper. Now I know better, I keep paper on me at all times! Because you never know when you need some MUSH.

And Saturday and Sunday well, those are free days of nothiness mushiness…Until next week I guess if I don’t forget or if I don’t feel self conscious.
Dead trees, some living of couse
I did say that I love a good log 😅🪵 one full of weird life growing on it, or decomposing on it. Here’s some photos of various trees I found interesting. Some are redundant, of course!
At the end I had to add some fall foliage from last year! Can’t wait to get out and again and explore the trees!
Fall in Texas, Dead Logs and Hawks!
My Sunday meanderings began like every other Sunday, on a walk in nature of course! And to one of my favorite walking spots here I went. I was anxious to see if any of the colors were starting to change. I noticed some on the very tips of the trees but relatively still green. I probably will go back each weekend to catch another glimpse of some new colors until they are all swept away. Fall usually starts much later here in East Texas. The sun was definitely illuminating some of the rich colors that are about to show. There are so many trees here, so once fall starts here you really need to look! Otherwise you’ll miss some of the beauty of the trees!
I also love to look at old logs on the forest floor. You can still see life on them, which fascinates me for some reason. I have to make a collection of dead logs in my next blog entry because I have quite a few.
This little patch of sun was shining through the forest floor and I thought, what cool little shadows it cast onto this log and the dead leaves!
And lastly on my meanderings, a hawk cut across my path onto this branch! It literally was just a couple of feet away from me as it flew into this tree! I was too afraid to move any closer for fear it would fly away. He was very annoyed at me because every time my shutter clicked he gave me a menacing look. And then he ruffled up his butt and pooped in my general direction, hah! He was very busy hunting something in the grass. Luckily I didn’t mess him up, because he flew away and caught whatever it was he saw (a mouse I supposed). Red tail hawks are so common here, one of the most common birds of prey here that you might miss them if you’re not looking. They are a nuisance to the local bird neighborhood who try and shoo them out of their nesting areas, but very cool to watch and to witness! I caught one hanging out in the rafters at work. Probably looking for mice there too.

It’s a bit dark so you can’t see his face. I tried lighting the photo up, but still too dark. But oh, what a sighting it was!
