Mom Blobbin’

Here are some doodles from Sunday, because Mother’s Day was actually great. I spent time with family, and especially my boys. We picked dew berries, walked the same roads I would walk as a kid, I took in all the changes because whoa…life. It wasn’t as guilt ridden as I was dreading. There were no grand gestures or big dinners/brunch or anything, just the kind of quiet, slow kind of day that I can soak in everything without rushing, doing, trying so hard and my kids actually didn’t mind me making them do the things! We unplugged so there are no pictures. But we need to unplug and connect with people around us. It’s imperative!! Do it now!!! I wish, I wish I could go back to many years from now and relive my life and not make the mistakes that I had made but as the song goes,

“I wish that I knew what I know now when I was younger”

I live with that on my mind a lot. But it’s all part of something else, some other plan,

Oh La La by Faces

but as of now I sit waiting, learning, grieving, giving, doodling, writing my pseudo wisdom. I have yet more to learn.

Mother’s Day

To all Mom’s on Earth. Happy Mother’s Day.

I don’t really like these doodles, the bird is too big and the little blobs look like hamsters to me. Oh well, here you go. I normally feel mushy and want to write something sweet but I don’t feel like it. I feel sort of guilty, this holiday is set out for moms which is great! but I don’t feel like I’m that great of a mom to deserve it. Or that great of a daughter to my mom either. I feel I should be doing more, and I don’t because I’m tired or stressed or guilty for not doing everything. Ugh

Greeted by the Great Heron

On my latest walkin’ wander about I spotted a great heron on the creek! Yes, these are the majestic birds I encountered flying above me one early morning, and we’re probably what I thought were cranes, and thus my crane energy/spirits were foiled. But not really, because these birds are just as majestic and beautiful. I almost missed it! I had circled back and spotted it on my way back! They’re so much larger than I thought because he got annoyed at me and flew up into a tree and then further down the creek. The wing span is massive!

I’m not sure you can see him but he’s hiding in a tree and then I spotted him further down the creek. I left him alone after that because he was busy trying to get him a meal, so I didn’t want to interfere!

And here are some puddles for your puddlin’ entertainment.

Happy walkin’ wandering abouts! I can’t wait to see what you’ll find in your nearest creek beds. Hmmm…?? is that a challenge?

And here’s just a quick doodle of the great heron. For GREAT HERON POWER! Maybe I am becoming the weird HERON birdo after all! It’s time to get back on the weirdo birdo obsession again.

May You Change

Nature has transformed since the dreary, solemn winter photos that I took in January/February. Of chilly puddles and barren trees? You must remember I posted 5,000 photos of the stuff. It’s quite a sight to witness nature’s seasons. We are so accustomed to the changes we may not really notice it. But on these walkabouts there is always something changing. Even the same fungi have changed! EVEN I HAVE CHANGED. It’s all a part of the seasons of life, even we must take part in them. We all must learn change.

Just look at all the light! and the green

DRAGONFLIES! and more green!

Okay, that’s enough for now. I’ll post some more dragonflies and the great blue heron I caught down at the creek. But for another day perhaps.

May the Blobs be with Us

May flies in quickly!

And with it more blobs, transforming into beams of light.

MAY

Here is May’s playlist, a bit more playful as the school year winds down, summer is almost here, and it’s just…my birthday month! so yeah, I’m fortunate to have revolved around the sun. I remain hopeful. In dark times such as these, we have to remain hopeful. We have to find the light inside us all and to be a source of light for others!

…so I try in my little small quiet ways

…I hope you try too.

Pierre the Racoon

Hi, Pierre

Pierre the Racoon who likes baguettes

On multiple occasions I’ve caught a raccoon climbing out of a tree to steal baguettes out of the dumpster. Sometimes full, sometimes half loaves of baguettes. I’m almost convinced someone is purposely leaving them for him! So we named him Pierre, he has exquisite taste. As all French do…I’m going to leave him a glass of bourdeux next time.
