I want donuts

I am trying to eat better and cut calories but all I can think about are donuts…

The problem is I have donuts in my house staring at me. Those small convenient eat the- whole -bag type donuts which are just cake with powered sugar on them. Yeah those. Why. I know that I shouldn’t, seeing as 35 years old has hit me and you don’t eat like you’re a 10 year old anymore!

Elegant Crapulance that is powered donuts.

Cookie butt…turning 35

It happens. We turn a year older. and so do our butts… because our butts are separate entities… which have revolved and evolved into the shapes of two ginormous cookies. i knew it. i spent all christmas and winter baking cookies for my kids. my husband kept requesting my cookies because it’s cheaper than store bought and so much better. add beer, pizza, easter candy and other junk to the butt batter and wahoop! cookie butt. happy birthday to my cookie butt. i’ll be sure to light a candle to my ass and wish it a merry christmas i mean happy birthday. 35 years of making and creating this great big cookie butt!

Coffee Cup drawings…

My son and I were writing and drawing in our journals. He has a small tiny book full of blank pages he likes to doodle in. I had no idea he was drawing coffee cups until he showed me. I told you my coffee drinking really has an effect on my children! At least it’s a creative effect!

The Coffee Cup Space ship

Both my boys are into space and it’s a fun past time of ours to draw solar systems. So while we doodled together we thought I’d be cool to draw a comic strip. There would be no denying the theme would be SPACE. I came up with Adventures of Astro-boy. There would be Luna the moon dog, Captain Wes and the infamous Astro-boy Will. They would fight the treacherous Space Toads (going all the way back to my high school days of writing the school’s comic strip) and fly in their super cool space ship the Coffee Cup. My son named it so (possibly because I’m never without a coffee cup in my hand). So we haven’t drawn the whole thing yet. I’ve really only drawn the space ship… But I’m just so thrilled that my kids love drawing and art as much as I do. It’s helping me get out of a super long break from anything remotely creative and artsy. I hope that we continue to create together because they’re inspiring me to be myself again…

CRAZY FACE

Image

I know I might have said in previous posts that I love to draw a CRAZY FACE in my journal everyday. Well, I’ve started an electronic sketchpad/journal and now I can do my CRAZY FACE faces digitally! So…more CRAZY FACE to come. How did I come up with it??

Well, one night me and Isaac were watching a B-Movie (I can’t think of the title) but it had a handicapped guy who owns a chimp to help him with picking things up and to just help him all around. Well, the chimp goes crazy violent (I don’t remember what set him off) but while we were watching it there was this paused close up of the main character with this look of horror, so I blurted out “crazy face” and we laughed so hard for like 10 minutes. So now, anytime in a movie where they zoom in on a face like that, I always say “crazy face.” Just one of those funny mush moments.

Digital Hippy Tree

For Illustration Friday’s word, Tree. I am working with digital drawing, and I’m still perfecting and learning and just really trying to get the hang of it. Frustrating it is…but I’m hoping that I can get better at it. All I need is practice, just as I need practice drawing too. And hoping I don’t get discouraged in the process and give up. I still feel more comfortable with my pencils and my pens and my colored pencils…ahh, but I need to explore new mediums and get out of my comfort zone!!

I still want to recreate this using my pens and pencils. I probably will. But I want to someday make code mush t-shirts with digital designs. And also make digital images for a website. Then of course, work on making those monthly magazines I used to make in high school, but with a more professional look. I have to get more professional, but also keep my style and of course be happy with my work.

I cannot stress how I get soooo discouraged sometimes!!
