Cat in the Pumpkins

Cat in the Pumpkins

I realized I haven’t done any Halloween doodles at all this season. It’s rather unusual for me, since last year I made bat origamis, and the costumes for the days of the week for the days of the week guys. You know Monday the Brain, Tuesday the cat, Wednesday the dog, Thursday and Friday I don’t even remember who they were because I kept changing it. Friday was Frankenstein for a while …but even if you’re unfamiliar with these doodles, have no fear, I start something and I get sidetracked and think it’s dumb and stop drawing them. But if you’ve come here for coffee cups, we’ll you’ve come to the right place.

I still have time to make some Halloweenie thingies.

But for now it’s just a cat in the pumpkins. He’s waiting for the Great Pumpkin!

You are the Crane! And also there are hamsters in the pumpkin patch

Yes, I have transformed into the crane! I spread good fortune, love to all. I’ve become the weirdo birdo I vowed to become at the beginning of 2024. So I’ve stayed pretty consistent. And obsessive. Which are the great attributes of an artist!

And then now for something completely different:

Hamster Thursday: Hanging in the Pumpkin Patch

Next week I’ll elaborate on the Mush days of the week. So far, my kids enjoy Monday Brain, Tuesday the Cat, Wednesday the Dog, Hamster Thursday ( which is new, it used to be Thursday the T-Rex), and Snake Fridays (used to be Franken Friday).

Crane Power coming your way!

Pumpkiny Brains

To continue my theme of brains this month, here’s some pumpkiny brains hiding inside pumpkins. For what reason? I don’t know. I guess because it’s Autumn and you’re being hit with a slew of pumpkins continuously until you buy one. So I apologize for bombarding your reading with more pumpkins! But what is October without pumpkins? And in other parts of the world I wonder if you get bombarded with pumpkins in your media and culture? What are your traditions?

The only pumpkin worthy of any recognition at all this year or any year is the Great Pumpkin, everybody knows this. At least I hope you do. He comes once a year and if he has a brain hidden inside him well, maybe it looks something like this. And maybe it’s not squiggly but if it is, maybe it’s Great.

Pumpkin Doubt is the Mind Killer

Doubtin’ Jack

Even Jack-o’-lanterns battle with self doubt.

“Am I scary enough?”

“Is my carved out wannabe scary face scary enough for these malicious ghosts?”

“Will I be too scary? You know, for the toddlers?”

“My back side is kind of lumpy? Will they laugh instead of scream?”

Once you carve a face into a pumpkin that’s when the doubt creeps in. So watch their floating conversation bubbles tonight and hope they’re kind to themselves. Because all jack o lanterns are spooky, cool and scary but not too scary, etc!

Crazy Eyeball Pumpkin

so here’s the crazy eyeball pumpkin face I was talking about in the previous post. I completely forgot that we took pictures of it. I am anxious to get my pumpkin carving on! I’m not sure what I’ll do this year (this is Isaac’s pumpkin by the way..mine wasn’t as cool, I did the grim reaper). I think I’ll post another pumpkin tomorrow for the hell of it. Getting excited!!

it’s a crazy pumpkin face!!

Image

It’s getting close to Halloween and my favorite all time thing to do is carve pumpkins. We do one every year. Last year I got these plastic looking eyeball party favors and got creative and stuck one of the eye balls into one of the pumpkins. It looked pretty freaking cool…and a little spooky too. My recreation of that pumpkin is not as scary. But…I thought he looked kinda …CRRRARAZY!
