It’s Bloomin’ Mush

I took a walkabout yesterday in the afternoon where I can get some great shadows and also great light!

And behold, I saw a star magnolia tree (I believe..I googled it too) which blooms white and pink flowers in late February and early Spring. I know when spring is coming when I see their blooms. And perhaps what’s cool about the shot I got was the moon in the center. If you can see I was looking directly up into the tree and caught the moon! Stellar magnolia, stellar moon! EEEEE! I also love watching the petals fall magnetically to the ground. That’s probably the most beautiful part, knowing that their beauty is very fleeting…you only see them bloom this time of year (I believe…that’s really the only time I’ve seen them bloom). But I’m glad to have witnessed it.

Stellar Magnolia Tree!

It has some of the most beautiful flowers!

Oh what do I see…

oh hi crescent moon!

I feel like I got distracted by the moon…ooop!

The petals falling with the wind is just something I can’t capture on camera…you just have to witness it yourself.

Harvest Moon!

Hello Moon! I did an attempt at taking photos with my camera (a Nikon 3200) so it’s not like the new cameras out there that can take amazing night photography. But I think these have the eeriness of an October moon which you can’t get from precision baby! Okay! And I hope you got a chance to see the harvest moon. It’s always the best full moon of the year.

Venus, Moon and Regulus Doodle

The crescent moon, smiling, winking (and Regulus a tiny spec, or freckle).

This was yesterday morning on the 19th.

I saw it, did you see it? It was better in person, this simpleton doodle doesn’t do it justice. It was magical, it was just the torch of joy I needed.

You read that right. Torch!

It did torch my soul! Not touch, torch. It set it a blazing!!

Stars are brilliant fire balls so it makes sense. And we’re made of star stuff.

Lunar Eclipse and Pi Day on the same day?!

Of course there will be doodles today of both! pi Day and lunar eclipse.

I tried.

Lunar Eclipse, March 14, 2025 as depicted by Code Mush in the future …

It hasn’t happened yet! but will be happening in the early hours of the morning here in the states. You bet your ass I’ll be grabbing some coffee and heading out! I don’t have a high tech camera but I’ll do my best to get what I can.

Grab some Pie today, it’s also Pi Day!

And while I’m up and at ’em so early I might as well grab a slice of pie somewheres, then crash for a little nap. I’ve set my agenda already for this Friday March 14th! Time to set my alarm(s).

Solstice Moon

Hello Solstice Moon

Is the solstice Moon keeping me awake these past few nights? Perhaps…

This night is the pinnacle, and perhaps the pinnacle moment of my life too, as it is the full circle. To notice your life is full, and will thus begin again. Hold onto it, all the love you feel inside, with it’s great fullness, reaching up to the sky to illuminate those who look up to see it. Maybe they’ll see you, illuminate too. You can begin again. Maybe it’s not how you thought it would be, but the moon is here tonight and that’s enough to hold a heart like yours.

Solstice Moon keep shining!

Day and Night, Night and Day

My still obsession with the eclipse of the sun and the relationship between sun and moon, light and dark, day and night, yin and yang etc. I don’t know, even though it looks like it’s a child’s book of childish drawings, I’m onto something right? Some profound philosophical wisdom. The sun and moon are always there, dancing their dance together, doing just what they must do, and there is always something beautiful in just that.

Sun and Moon Dance

Another doodle of the eclipse. I was in awe of the celestial dance we witnessed,  its brief, brilliant moment in the sky.

Sun and Moon Dance

Then I read this Japanese Legend:

The sun and moon used to love each other, but because of their time difference, they don’t meet. So, God created the eclipse for them to meet, so that people would know there is no impossible love.

So beautiful. Until they meet again, dance again.
